When I took the train to Home Made 2025, I already had a suitcase with three different setups with me: At the top left, I grouped five players from the Tiny Techno Orchestra, and to the right of that was the setup from deadBatteryMusic. Below that was an arrangement of players and effects from FlipFloater such as Benjolin V1-2 (FlipFloater version), DroneSlider, Ugly Face (distortion), FlipFloater Delay, Resonator, Ralf Schreiber's Starvation Synth, Uwe Schüler's Chaosz Oszi and Noisio's Levitation Oscillator.
What did I want to implement in the first few days? Claude Winterberg, aka FlipFloater—I'm writing this so precisely because ChatGPT laughably associated FlipFloater with Wolfgang Dorninger—brought me his Power Mixer and his 6-channel Inline Mixer to solder. Neither tool is part of his workshop because he developed them exclusively for his own musical setup. Thanks, Claude! After the soldering session, I set about putting everything into a playable form with spacers (thanks, Uwe Schüler). Now I can play wonderful concerts out of the box with two very chaotic sound tools like Benjolin and Starvation Synth together with the Levitation Oscillator pad synth and the Chaosz Oszi. The effects complement the whole setup perfectly.
On August 8, I played a 20-minute concert from my suitcase at Home Made 2025. I performed with deadBatteryMusic in the first part and with the Tiny Techno Orchestra in the second. In the first part, the low voltage was the main element of the two oscillators (starving to zero), in the second part with photovoltaic cells and light up to 3 volts, but also starving again. Watch the video!
Thank you, Home Made, for the great time. I should have come much earlier if not ...

music with self-soldered sound tools
DRKMBNT is a live act that performs its music with self-soldered sound tools. The sound tools were mostly developed by friends with whom DRKMBNT regularly meets privately or at soldering festivals. From time to time, DRKMBNT modifies these tools, as in the “Tiny Techno Orchestra” project. The orchestra consists of 10 circuits, each made up of a CMOS chip, a few resistors and capacitors and photovoltaic panels. Lamps are used to make the orchestra sound.
The music of DRKMBNT is improvised, from time to time a video or a live recording is published on the band's homepage, only very rarely are records produced.
DRKMBNT loves improvisation, loves the moments when the orderly turns into the disorderly, when he doesn't know how things will continue musically and technically. But fortunately, new possibilities constantly arise, musically, aesthetically and technically.
