AURAL SCREENSHOTS make it sound like your CD is skipping & you are getting digital distortion, but it sure is cool!
I swear: there is some kind of spaceship landing in my living room & it is gonna blow my woofers out! REHBERG & BAUER are equally as harsh, sounding like fax machine transfer run through vocoders. What the hell is this? Did! the CD pressing plant really screw up or is this some kind of new digi-distortion rumble music? Sure is cool! THE SMILING BUDDHAS are just as hip, but this time, there is a definite beat (sprinkledwith delay echo) and a bass riff. There is that distortion again! Guess what! It is cool!
MARTHA HURRY adds some authentic & manic strings to the mix. There is some psycho-funk-squirts too. Cool. ALOIS HUBER cuts the sampling time in half & gooses up the overload times two. SCHLUND pepper their distorto mix with harmonized vocals that are creepy & way cool (obviously!). THE K kikkks it with a dull-dirge disko distortion volcano which stomps pacifier-sukkking ravers into the konkrete klub floor. That is Kewl! SWAMP SWALLOW is an appropriate name, cuz it sounds like the distorto beatbox is being swallowed into a swamp of stereo decay. Sounds cool. And then AURAL SCREENSHOTS are back as A.S.S., but they are not ass-kickin on this cut.....its just plain cool..
If you are tired of dance music that plays it too safe, try this - it is definitely different from any other compilation l have heard lately.
